IDLEWILD was founded as a creative source to not only establish more of my editorial writing, creative direction and editorial photography skills but to also utilize these skills in an effort to amplify our collective voices and avenues of visual storytelling through my artistry.

Art is the foundational piece to IDLEWILD. Through art, we explore different ways of educating, being a resource to our communities, historical preservation through imagery and the beautiful art of visual storytelling through this medium.
About Our Founder
Rakesha Glenn is the Founder and Editorial Photographer of IDLEWILD Media & Co. Originally from Winston-Salem, NC, her childhood background of participating within various programs within the arts (paired with her love for reading) evolved into later pursuance’s that have allowed her to live out her dreams. In every venture that Rakesha has pursued over the course of her 15 year entrepreneurial journey, she has left a unique and creative mark on each idea along with those across the country who have supported each endeavor. To continue to serve her purpose paired with passion, Rakesha recently returned to college to complete her BA in History w/ a concentration in Africana Diaspora. She views this as a much-needed addition to continue the work she has planned not only for IDLEWILD but for every venture she’ll pursue. She lives by two mottos: “Passion Fuels Purpose” and “Evolution is Infinite”. Rakesha is currently a resident of Greensboro, NC, a mother of three and enjoys quiet days in nature, reading a book and tending to her multiple plants and growing garden.
